Vietnam’s wooden moulding exports to the US market increased by 6% in August
Hardwood moulding
The total import value of hardwood lumber from the United States in August was 17.7 million US dollars, a decrease of 11% from the previous month.
Vietnam is the only country among the major suppliers of hardwood in the United States where shipments have increased. In August, the total amount of hardwood lumber exported from Vietnam to the United States was 6.9 million US dollars, an increase of 6% compared to the previous month.
In August, the total amount of Brazilian hardwood imported from the United States was $5 million, a decrease of 4% compared to the previous month. In August, the total value of hardwood exports from Malaysia and Canada to the United States decreased by about one-third, but the shipment volume from the beginning of the year to the present is still higher than the same period last year.
Coniferous wood moulding
In August, the total import value of coniferous wood moulding from the United States was 67 million US dollars, an increase of 5% compared to the previous month. Chile is the winner among the supply countries, with a total export of coniferous wood moulding to the United States of $24.7 million, an increase of 44% from the previous month. The total amount of coniferous wood moulding exported from Brazil to the United States in August was also $24.7 million, a decrease of 11% from the previous month.
In August, the total amount of imported Vietnamese coniferous wood moulding from the United States increased by 8% compared to the previous month, to 6.2 million US dollars. Since the beginning of the year, the total import volume has only slightly increased (+1%) compared to the same period last year.
