The largest ever Canton Fair will open on April 15th
The structure of participating enterprises in the largest ever Canton Fair continues to be optimized, with production enterprises and private enterprises being the largest participants, accounting for 50.57% and 90.1% respectively. The number of high-quality and characteristic enterprises has reached a historic high, with a total of about 5700 leading enterprises in the industry and high-quality enterprises with titles such as “specialized, refined, and innovative” little giants, manufacturing single champion, national high-tech enterprise, and national enterprise technology center. The quality of exhibits has further improved, with over 3 million exhibits uploaded on the enterprise line, including nearly 500000 green and low-carbon products. The Canton Fair will open on April 15th.
Today, the 133rd China Import and Export Fair (referred to as the “Canton Fair”) held a media briefing. At the meeting, Xu Bing, Deputy Director of the China Center for Foreign Trade, stated that “this year’s Canton Fair is the largest in history, with an exhibition area and a record high number of participating enterprises.” The 133rd Canton Fair, which will be fully restored offline, will be held in Guangzhou from April 15th to May 5th.
The total exhibition area of the 133rd Canton Fair increased from 1.18 million square meters to 1.5 million square meters, and the number of booths increased from 60000 to nearly 70000. The number of offline exhibitors has increased from 25000 to 34933, with over 9000 new exhibitors and 39281 online exhibitors. At present, the preparatory work for the 133rd Canton Fair has been basically completed. Unlike previous exhibitions, this exhibition has established three new exhibition areas: industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing, new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, maternal, infant and child products, and three new special areas: smart life, silver economy, testing and protective products. On the basis of maintaining 10 major categories of products, the number of exhibition areas has increased to 54, and the number of special areas has increased to 159
It is worth noting that the import exhibition scale of this year’s Canton Fair will further expand, with the first import exhibition set up in all three phases, reaching 30000 square meters, an increase of 50% compared to before the epidemic. 508 companies from 40 countries and regions participated in 12 professional exhibition areas. Xu Bing pointed out that 73% of the exhibitors from countries and regions along the “the Belt and Road” have exhibition groups from six countries and regions, including Türkiye, South Korea, Malaysia, India, Hong Kong, and Macao; For the first time, five national level import trade promotion and innovation demonstration zones, including Guangzhou Nansha, Guangzhou Huangpu, Wenzhou Ouhai, Guangxi Beihai, and Inner Mongolia Qisumu, were introduced to promote the business environment and innovation achievements of the demonstration zones, promote deepening practical cooperation between countries, regions, and demonstration zones, and jointly promote international trade liberalization and facilitation.
As of now, buyers from 226 countries and regions have registered online and offline to participate in the conference. 47 business institutions from Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa, Oceania, and other regions will form a group to attend the conference. Fortune 500 and Fortune 250 retailers have all sent buyers to the conference for procurement. 53 leading multinational enterprises, including Wal Mart in the United States, Auchan in France, Carrefour, Metro AG in Germany, Lulu in the United Arab Emirates, and Woolworth in Australia, confirmed to attend the conference.
