Recently, our quality and technical inspection engineer in Vietnam was commissioned by a US importer client to conduct a sampling test on the surface wear resistance of some solid wood composite flooring products produced and sold by a flooring factory in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. We used a unified standard method to inspect the products. The test results have met the customer’s quality requirements.
What is the importance of floor surface wear resistance? In fact, surface wear resistance is an important indicator of floor durability, which reflects the wear resistance performance of the floor during use. This indicator is based on the testing method of GB/T 18103-2013 Solid Wood Composite Flooring and specifies ≤ 0.15g/100r.
To measure whether a floor is wear-resistant, one needs to look at the tree species and material of the solid wood floor itself, and also at the paint surface technology of the floor. Many floors exported to the United States use imported paint throughout the entire line, and the floor surface uses 6 layers of UV curing coating, which is very thin and allows the paint to penetrate into the wood microporous fibers, making the floor wear-resistant, breathable, and warm.
