Laminate Inspections

Beneath the layer is an inter core composed of melamine resin and fiberboard materials. Common defective conditions to laminate floors are: Gapping, peaking, buckling/warping, mold, off-registration, soft floor, formaldehyde-outgassing and sound penetration, there can be many more depending on the conditions. Laminate floors are inexpensive and strong, but they’re not immune to a variety of defects. Ceramic / Porcelain Tile Inspections
To be able to inspect ceramic tile installations there are a number of things the inspector must know. For instance, how tile is manufactured and classified which better gives the inspector an understanding of the materials and what the tolerances are for specific types of tile. During the inspection we look for lippage, check the tile installation for cracks, loose tiles, lifting, chipping and splitting. We test for crazing of the glaze in the tile, check cracked grout lines check the floor for excessive moisture and check how flat the floor is. If you have one or more of these conditions, Horizon Flooring Inspections can perform a specialized certified inspection service, and give you a comprehensive report on our findings as well as offer recommendations and solutions to issues found.
Carpet Inspections
While every floor covering product can be shown to have its own advantages and drawbacks, carpet has several distinct benefits when compared to hard surfaces. Carpet provides excellent insulation value to a space, much more than hard surface flooring materials. Sound carries much further when there is no carpet in the space. This is because hard surfaces can’t absorb sound the way that soft surfaces – such as carpet – can. It goes without saying that hard surfaces can be slippery, and they’re not much fun to land on when slips and falls do happen. But when carpet pulls up, looses it’s color and is crushed and matted then it’s best to get a certified carpet inspection. The precision of our carpet inspections depends on the situation such as condition, size, and material of the carpet including the padding. Horizon Flooring Inspections can perform a specialized certified inspection service, and give you a comprehensive report on our findings as well as offer recommendations and solutions to issues found.
LVP/LVT Inspections

Our inspection procedures and field testing can lead to the determination of the cause of the failures. Horizon Flooring Inspections can determine the moisture content readings of whatever your substrate your LVT/LVP floor is installed over. We also do meter readings, home’s relative humidity and adequate expansion space.
