Plywood for scaffolding
Plywood for scaffolding is special increased-strength veneered plywood treated with a protective agent and featuring a wear-resistant, anti-slip finish. It is used to manufacture the toe-board (walk-on layer) for work and service scaffolds.
Regulatory framework
DIBt grants national technical approvals (abZ) for plywood for scaffolding
- when they deviate significantly from the Technical Building Rules (cf. MVV TB, Chapter C 2) or
- when neither Technical Building Rules nor generally recognised technical rules exist (e.g. innovative products).
Plywood for scaffolding is used exclusively to manufacture toe boards for work and service scaffolds. It is not covered by harmonised standard DIN EN 13986, because scaffolding does not fall within the scope of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR, Regulation (EU) No 305/2011).
