Ball Drop Impact Flooring Testing

Find out by submitting your wood flooring product to Capital Testing for the ASTM D2394 falling-ball indentation test! Our new magnetically-controlled impact tester drops a 2”-diameter, 1.2 lb steel ball on your product from heights ranging from 6” to 72”. We measure the indentation depth after each drop and plot those depths against their associated drop heights to provide a curve of indentation.
This test is ideal for comparing the impact resistance of your various product lines, or to see how your product compares to the competition.
