Five Key Points for Floor Quality Acceptance and Inspection and Selection of High Quality Floor Suppliers
“Three parts flooring, seven parts installation”, the quality of flooring installation will directly affect the living quality and overall aesthetics of the home. At the stage of floor paving, decoration is often nearing completion, and although there is a rush to move in, floor acceptance is also a crucial step.
Key point 1: Pay attention to the surface of the floor
The first thing to pay attention to is whether the overall appearance of the floor is clean, and whether there are scratches, damages, and color differences in the details. Any problems need to be raised in a timely manner.
Clean surface without leaving any stains
During construction, it is inevitable that some debris will be left behind. If the construction team is irresponsible and does not remove it, covering it with debris will affect the quality inspection of other aspects. Therefore, the first step of inspection is to ensure that the floor surface is clean and not contaminated.
Carefully inspect to prevent damage and scratches
Both sides of the floor should have no indentation, bottom penetration, chipping, cracking, layering, or edge defects, and there should be no scratches, bulges, cracks, or other phenomena on the front.
Check if the surface and floor colors are consistent
The national standard has clear requirements for the appearance of flooring. If the color difference is too large and directly affects the appearance, it can be requested to be replaced. But it should be noted that if the colors are too consistent, with almost no color difference, and the patterns are also similar, then it is definitely not a solid wood floor, so it is normal for solid wood floors to have color differences.
Key point 2: Pay attention to edge seams
The quality of the joints on the surface layer of the wooden floor should comply with the following regulations: the joints should be tight, the joint positions should be staggered, the surface should be clean, the joints should be tight, the nails should be firm, the bonding should be free of overflow glue, and the floor arrangement should be reasonable and beautiful.
Height difference of wooden floor joints
On the floor surface of the same test area, visually select two floor joints with the maximum height difference, use tools to close to two adjacent floor strips to cross the joints, and insert a 0.5mm thick paper into the gap between the steel ruler and the floor strip. If it can be inserted, then the measuring point is unqualified, otherwise it is qualified.
The joint between the floor and the baseboard is too large
If insufficient glue is applied during the paving process, it is easy for the floor to shift after the glue solidifies in the later stage. The large joint between the floor and the foot line not only affects the service life of the floor, but also seriously affects its appearance.
Key point three: The details of the paving need to be checked
Improper flooring can seriously affect its service life. Here are a few details to check when laying solid wood flooring.
Loose and hollowed floor
If the wooden keel is not laid firmly, it will make a noise when stepping on the floor, so be sure to check it after the wooden keel is laid. You can step on the wooden keel with both feet and shake them to check if the wooden keel is firm.
Floor warping
After laying the floor, it is best to place a ruler vertically on the floor to see if there is any lifting. If there is any unevenness, it needs to be reinstalled and the flatness deviation adjusted to the allowable range.
Loose floor
Some decoration construction units use wood keel that has not been dried for construction, and there may be signs of drying on the surface, but in reality, it has not been dried yet. Wood keel with high moisture content will shrink in volume during the natural drying process of wood, causing looseness and quality problems.
Key point four: Is there any noise when stepping on the foot
Check if there is any noise on the floor
During the acceptance inspection, walk on the floor more frequently and increase your footsteps, especially in the areas against the wall and door openings. Pay more attention to the acceptance inspection. If any sound is found, repeat the walking to determine the specific location of the sound and mark it properly. In this case, it can be requested to dismantle and re lay.
Key point 5: Check the gaps in the acceptance of the baseboard
Attention should be paid to the acceptance of the skirting line, and the gap between the skirting line and the door frame should be greater than or equal to 2mm; The spacing between the joints of the skirting line should be less than or equal to 1mm, and the gap between the skirting line and the floor surface should be within the range of 3mm to 5mm. The height difference of the skirting line buckle should be greater than or equal to 1mm.
