In 2022, four plywood production bases in China (the world)
The plywood production in China shows typical labor-intensive industrial characteristics. The separation of veneer production and plywood production is a unique mode of plywood production. The development of plywood industry in China has greatly promoted the construction of artificial fast-growing and high-yield timber forest bases and the development of plain forestry mainly in the form of agricultural and forestry intercropping, farmland shelterbelt, and roadside afforestation, which has made outstanding contributions to increasing farmers’ income, absorbing rural surplus labor force, and reducing social employment pressure.
Linyi, Shandong, Pishusi, Jiangsu, Nanning, Guangxi and Zhangzhou, Fujian have become the new “four bases” for plywood production.
1. Linyi City, Shandong Province is the largest plywood production and trade base in China
Yitang Town, Lanshan District and Tanyi Town, Feixian County are the main gathering areas. The city has more than 1200 plywood production enterprises, with an annual production capacity of more than 30 million cubic meters.
2. Pizhou City, Shuyang County and Siyang County of Jiangsu Province are the main gathering areas for plywood production nationwide
Pizhou has more than 260 plywood production enterprises, more than 1000 plywood production lines, and an annual production capacity of more than 6 million cubic meters; Shuyang County and Siyang County have more than 300 plywood production enterprises with an annual production capacity of nearly 6 million cubic meters. The region is planning a reasonable layout, further intensive use of land, strengthen environmental protection measures, guide the intensive development of industry, lengthen the industrial chain, create a production system with clear professional division of labor and supporting upstream and downstream products, and enhance the overall competitive advantage of the industrial cluster.
3. Nanning and its surrounding areas are the largest production cluster of eucalyptus plywood in China
The region has nearly 400 plywood production enterprises, with an annual production capacity of nearly 8 million cubic meters. The region has obvious advantages in raw material supply, abundant labor resources and large industrial development space.
4. Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province is the largest pine building formwork production base in China
The area once had nearly 500 plywood production enterprises such as building formwork and many veneer production enterprises or workshops.
Xingtai City, Hebei Province, Zuogezhuang Town, Wen’an County and Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province were once important bases for plywood production. Zuogezhuang Town had more than 800 plywood and veneer manufacturers during the peak period, and Xingtai City and Jiashan County also had more than 200 plywood manufacturers. In recent years, with the change of regional market and the adjustment of industrial structure, the production capacity of plywood has declined significantly, and the number of enterprises has declined sharply, gradually withdrawing from the position of main plywood production base.
