How to identify the quality of wood veneer
Guide: What is a high-quality wood veneer? How to judge the quality of wood veneer? This is mainly judged from the multiple senses such as vision and smell.
- Distinguish the quality from the appearance, whether it is natural wood veneer or technological wood veneer, which is made of “imported willow eucalyptus core+wood veneer”. In this way, the cross section of the wood veneer is not easy to be hollowed, and the surface flatness of the board is good, without glue opening and blistering, indicating that the bonding quality between the veneer layer and the base material is good, the internal filler structure is reasonable, and the drying process is strict.
- The wood veneer with good quality judged by smell has high requirements for environmental protection during production and processing, and all materials used are required to have certificates, inspection reports and other documents. If the wood veneer has a strong pungent smell, it indicates that the formaldehyde content exceeds the standard and the quality of the panel is poor.
- Judging from the surface texture of wood veneer, the surface texture of natural wood veneer is clear, the color is consistent, and there are no surface defects such as wormholes and dead knots. Within the range of 100mm * 100mm, 1-2 defects with a diameter of no more than 0.1mm are allowed, and the spacing is greater than 80mm.
- The thickness uniformity of the wood veneer will be determined in strict accordance with the design requirements during the production of the wood veneer (generally between 50 and 150 wires), and the veneer construction will be carried out after the inspection is qualified. In this way, the thickness of the panel will be uniform, and the thicker the panel is, the smaller the deformation rate will be, the more real the wood will feel after painting, the clearer the texture will be, and the bright color and saturation will be good.
- The knife pry method is used to check the strength of the wood veneer. The surface bonding strength is an important indicator for testing the performance of the panel. Use a sharp flat blade to pry along the adhesive layer. If the wood is damaged due to the damage of the adhesive layer, it indicates that the bonding quality between the veneer material and the base material is not enough, and there will be glue opening and blistering in the later period.
At present, there are many kinds of wood veneer on the market, but the quality level is uneven. Only by combining the evaluation criteria of wood veneer quality, can enterprises produce high-quality wood veneer that meets the market requirements.
