Hardwood flooring can add value and enhance the beauty of any home or business. When properly maintained your wood floors can last far beyond their intended years. If you have had or are having trouble with your flooring, hiring an independent NWFA inspector to assess any issues with your floor can prove to be immensely beneficial. During our inspections we check for crowning, cupping, gaps, splits, moisture, flatness of the floor, gloss level of the finish, refinishing problems and finish problems. If you are having a problem, National Floor Inspections can perform a specialized certified inspection and give you a comprehensive report on our findings as well as offer recommendations to correct the problem. The report will include all necessary documentation for client understanding, mediation, or court case. Laminate Floor Inspections
Laminate floors add warmth and beauty to any room. Properly installed and cared for they will last a lifetime. Problems can arise due to manufacturing defects, excessive moisture, or improper installation. In such cases a qualified laminate flooring inspector is required to determine the root cause of the problem and recommend solutions. Laminate floors are inexpensive and strong, but they’re not immune to a variety of defects. We provide expert witness and inspection services regarding all types of laminate flooring and related components with residential and commercial sites and products. Our services offer a neutral, third party flooring inspection when the parties involved in a flooring complaint can’t resolve their dispute or determine the cause of the problem. There are many things that can cause a laminate floor to fail, and many times it can be more than one reason. Hiring a third party allows you to get the answers you are looking for and will help you resolve your issue.

Vinyl Floor Inspections
Vinyl flooring is a very popular choice for both residential and commercial properties. Some of the big advantages of this material include durability and color options. Proper installation of vinyl flooring and vinyl plank flooring actually requires a high level of skill, in addition to specialized training. Some of the problems we see with vinyl flooring include, dulling of the gloss, surface-stripping, discoloration and product damage. We can perform a specialized certified inspection, and give you a comprehensive report on our findings as well as offer recommendations and solutions to correct the issues. Our services are available to anyone in need of an independent certified third party inspection.
Engineered Hardwood Inspections
Engineered wood flooring is a layered product made of an actual but thin slice of hardwood on top of a base of high-quality plywood. Engineered wood floors are durable, but not comparable to solid wood. Engineered wood flooring has a thin surface of real wood, it can become chipped or de-laminated if stressed beyond normal conditions. Yet its ability to hold up to limited moisture helps bring up its durability rating. There are numerous things that can cause engineered wood flooring to fail, and many times it can be multiple reasons. An NWFA certified Inspector is an impartial judge of flooring and can usually tell after a thorough walk through, testing with equipment, and years of knowledge and schooling what is ailing your floor. That is why we recommend calling us, we are an impartial third party able to inspect the floor and provide you with a written report outlining the issues and causes.
Carpet is one of the largest investments a homeowner or business can make. We provide inspection services for homeowners and others, the inspection itself is a thorough examination of your carpet’s fibers, looking for signs of discoloration, shedding, thinning and warping. The inspector will make an onsite visit, gather pertinent information, perform a visual inspection and perform onsite testing. The inspector will usually make a determination as to the cause of the carpet or installation failure.
Tile flooring, due to its low required maintenance, ease of cleaning, and resistance to physical damage, is one of the most popular flooring materials available. Tile has both residential and commercial uses and in order to do a proper inspection there are certain things the inspector must know. For instance, how the tile was manufactured and classified, this allows us to understand the tolerances for a specific product. During the inspection we check the tile installation for cracks, loose tiles, lifting, chipping and splitting. We test for crazing of the glaze in the tile, check cracked grout lines check the floor for excessive moisture and check how flat the floor is. In summary, ceramic and stone can be superb flooring materials, but water, acid, improper installation, and other adverse conditions may create defects. If you have one or more of these conditions we can perform a specialized certified inspection, and give you a complete report on our findings as well as offer recommendations and solutions to issues found.
