Supervision and Random Inspection Results of Shandong Province Particleboard Product Quality Team in June 2023
The Shandong Province Particle Board Product Quality Team announced the results of the provincial supervision and random inspection of particle board product quality in June 2023.
In the third batch of provincial supervision and random inspection in 2023, a total of 35 batches of particle board products were randomly inspected, including 34 batches in the production field and 1 batch in the circulation field.
In this spot check, the static bending strength, internal bonding strength, surface bonding strength, 2h water absorption thickness expansion rate, formaldehyde emission and other items of particleboard products were inspected in accordance with the requirements of GB 18580-2017 Indoor Decoration Materials Engineered wood and Their Products Formaldehyde Emission Limits, GB/T 4897-2015 Particleboard and other standards.
This random inspection found that two batches of products did not meet the requirements of relevant standards, and the unqualified item was the 2-hour water absorption thickness expansion rate. Among them, the producer raised objections to the inspection results of two batches and applied for re inspection; After re inspection, maintain the initial inspection conclusion.
- Is there any pungent odor. The main materials of particleboard are branch wood, wood processing residues, adhesives (mainly urea formaldehyde adhesive), and other additives (waterproof agents, formaldehyde removal agents, etc.). High quality particleboards only have a light odor of wood. It is best not to purchase particle boards with irritating odors or odors.
- Check the appearance. The standard requirement for particle board is that the surface of the product should be free from breakage, indentation, edge damage, and other phenomena. Check whether the particle structure of the particle board section is symmetrical and whether the particle shape is uniform. It is recommended not to purchase particle boards with appearance defects, uneven particle shape, and asymmetric structure.
- Choose different types of particle board products based on their different uses. You can view the quality certificate and logo of the sold products, and implement the specifications and models, product types, formaldehyde emission levels, execution standards, production dates, factory names, and addresses of the particleboard.
